Particularities
- Note: If you want to phone or use the internet on a ferry, keep a close eye on your calling costs. Usually you will receive a text message when you cannot be connected to a local EU network and information about the (high!) Rates for a maritime satellite connection. Requirements
Drivers license
- Often the driver must have held the driving license for at least 2 years.
Age
- The driver must often be at least 20 or 21 years old.
- Sometimes the age limit is lower or higher depending on the rental company or the type of vehicle.
- Drivers under the age of 26 often have to pay a young driver surcharge.
Guarantee
- A car can only be rented with a credit card (with pin code) in the name of the main driver. Cash is rarely accepted as a deposit.
- Debit cards (debit cards, debit cards), prepaid cards, rechargeable or virtual credit cards or other payment cards that do not have the numbers and letters stamped (tactile embossing) are usually not accepted.
