    Speeding violation

    Roads with a maximum speed of up to 60 km / h

    • Exceeding up to 15 km / h: from € 170.

    Parking violation

    • € 20-80 (varies per municipality). Increase of € 14 in case of non-payment within 30 days.
    • Wheel clamps are used in some municipalities, removal costs a maximum of € 300.

    Use anti-radar

    • Income-related fine.

    No lighting during the day

    • Not using low beam during the day: from € 50.

    Driving under the influence

    • From 0.5 ‰ to 1.2 ‰: income-related fine or imprisonment for up to 6 months and / or withdrawal of the driving license.
    • More than 1.2 ‰: income-related fine or imprisonment for up to 2 years and / or withdrawal of the driving license.

    Fine handling

    • For a simple traffic offense, the police may impose a fine of between € 20 and € 200. The amount depends on the seriousness of the violation. The fine must be paid within two weeks by bank transfer. The police are not allowed to collect the fine on the spot.
    • For a serious traffic offense (for example if you have driven more than 20 km / h too fast or through a red light) an income-related fine with a minimum of € 6 will be imposed. Foreigners may refuse access to their income data. In that case, a fixed fine will be imposed. If you do provide information: providing false information is punishable.

    Points driver’s license

    • Finland does not have a penalty point system for traffic offenses.

    Arrest
